Tim Miles: A Tech Leader's Perspective

Tim Miles has been the Chair of NZX since April 2020, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the tech sector. He has held senior leadership roles in various tech companies, such as IBM, Vodafone, Spark and Gentrack. He is also a director of several other tech-related organisations, such as The Mind Lab, Unleashed Software and Serko.

Q: What are some of the opportunities and challenges facing the tech sector in New Zealand

A: I think one of the biggest opportunities for the tech sector in New Zealand is to leverage our unique strengths and advantages, such as our creativity, ingenuity, quality of life and proximity to Asia-Pacific markets. We have a lot of potential to grow our tech exports and contribute to the economic recovery and transformation of the country. We also have an opportunity to use tech as a force for good and address some of the social and environmental issues that we face as a nation and as a global community.
